Unsolicited Conceptual PPTA Proposal
to Operate Port of Virginia
The commonwealth is no longer considering an unsolicited PPTA proposal and alternative proposals for operation of the Port of Virginia submitted in 2012. On March 26, 2013, the Virginia Port Authority (VPA) Board of Commissioners passed resolutions discontinuing further evaluation of the PPTA proposals (Resolution 13-5) and directing the Interim Executive Director of the VPA to begin implementing a restructuring of the VPA and Virginia International Terminals, Inc., the current terminal operator (Resolution 13-6). On April 2, 2013, the Governor accepted the VPA Board’s decision.
